Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan: hierarchies and traditions have restricted them

Harry and Meghan can finally trade freely, as evidenced by their Netflix deal. In the past many obstacles were put in their way.

Prince Harry (35) and Duchess Meghan (39) have proven with their latest deal with the streaming service Netflix that they want to break new ground after their retirement as senior royals. Journalist Omid Scobie, one of the authors of the recently published Royal reveal book "Finding Freedom", recently revealed in The Heir Pod podcast, according to the British Daily Mail, that the Sussex couple had longed for self-determination to be able to live. They were prevented from doing so by tradition and hierarchy in the British royal family.

The couple has literally "blossomed" since their resignation and raised their charitable work to a whole new level. "It shows how much they were held back by tradition, hierarchy and stubbornness within the royal institution." He added that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are now "perfectly happy". "This is the couple who operate in a way they have desperately wanted for a long time, but failed to do for a number of reasons." Much has to do with the fact that they were unable to deal with subjects that were classified as "politically sensitive" in the royal tradition.

Meghan did not fit in with the monarchy as an institution with her own ideas and ideals and the questioning of working methods. "Instead of someone trying to account for these differences, it was quickly seen as something very problematic." The couple is now happy with their new life in America. "You just have to look at the work you've already done and how loudly you spoke about things that are so important to you."
