A friend of Oprah Winfrey's now explained what would have happened to Harry and Meghan's interview in the event of Prince Philip's death.

The Oprah interview with Duchess Meghan (39) and Prince Harry (36) would have been postponed if Prince Philip's (99) health had deteriorated. The revealed Gayle King (66), a close friend of Oprah Winfrey (67), on Wednesday on her show on SiriusXM. The interview was therefore recorded and planned before Prince Philip was hospitalized in mid-February. "If something, God forbid, had happened, the interview wouldn't have been released at that particular time," said King.

In fact, there has been a lot of criticism at the time the interview was published, in which Meghan and Harry made allegations of racism against an unnamed member of the Royals, among other things. According to a "YouGov" poll, the popularity ratings of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were then at their lowest level ever.

In total, Prince Philip had to spend around four weeks in the hospital. He was being treated there for an infection and had to undergo heart surgery because of known heart problems. He was only able to leave King Edwards VII's Hospital in London on March 16.
