Archie will be a big brother: Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan will be parents again – the two are "overjoyed," they said.

Prince Harry (36) and Duchess Meghan (39) become parents again. According to British media reports, the two have announced that they are expecting a sibling for their one-year-old son Archie. A spokesman for the couple said: "We can confirm that Archie will be a big brother. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are overjoyed to have their second child."

The couple also shared a black and white picture of themselves with Harry sitting under a tree, his wife lying with her head on his leg, beaming at him. She put one hand on her already visible baby bump. Photographer Misan Harriman, a friend of the couple, took the photo, on Twitter he wrote about the picture: "Meg, I was at your wedding and saw how this love story began, and my friend, it is an honor to see it grow. Congratulations to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex on this good news!"

Royal family is "excited"

From Buckingham Palace it is said of the royal addition to the family: "Your Majesty, the Duke of Edinburgh, the Prince of Wales and the whole family are enthusiastic and wish them all the best." The Sussexes baby will be the fifth grandchild of Prince Charles, 72, and the tenth or eleventh great-grandchild of Queen Elizabeth II, 94, and Prince Philip, 99, depending on whether it's before or after Zara Tindall's (39) baby who is also expecting offspring in 2021. Archie's sibling will be in eighth place in the line of succession and will be entitled to bear the title of Lord or Lady, but Meghan and Harry have already waived that with their first child.

In November, Meghan announced through an article in the New York Times that she had a miscarriage last summer. The announcement of the pregnancy comes only a few days after the birth of another royal baby: Harry's cousin, Princess Eugenie (30), gave birth to a boy on February 9th. Harry and Meghan's baby, however, will grow up a long way from the royal family: The Sussexes live in Montecito, California, after resigning as high-ranking royals last spring. The couple subsequently struck multi-million dollar deals with Netflix and Spotify. They are also involved with their Archewell Foundation for charitable purposes.

Harry's late mother, Princess Diana (1961-1997), announced almost exactly 37 years ago that she was pregnant with Harry: The news was released on February 13, 1984 and hit the front pages of newspapers on February 14.
