On October 19, a ceremony in honor of Princess Diana will be organized at Kensington Palace. But it is rumored that Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle will not be going there.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were expected to be firm at Kensington Palace at the end of the month. Still, it seems that the couple is not determined to go there. On October 19, a ceremony to pay tribute to Princess Diana, who died in 1997, will be held within the royal family. Among the guests, we remember the name of Sir Elton John, a great friend of Lady Di. For many experts on British royalty, the presence of Prince Harry at this event was (almost) no doubt: “Jcan’t imagine anything less important to him because he wants to respect his mother“, explained Ingrid Seward, editor-in-chief of Majesty Magazine, for the British tabloid The Sun. “It is an important gathering of his mother’s friends. He might even get some quotes for his Memoirs. And I’m sure Meghan wishes to be there for Diana and Harry“, she added.

Yet, according to The Daily Telegraph magazine, a spokesperson for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle has affirmed that the couple will not make the trip to London to attend the ceremony. An absence that could have been granted to travel restrictions linked to the global pandemic, but it is not. Indeed, the ban on entering England for travelers from the United States has been lifted. The spokesperson, for the moment, has not given a reason for the absence of Archie and Lilibet’s parents.
The celebration is organized to thank the donors who participated in the elaboration of the statue in tribute to Princess Diana. It also sits in Sunken Garden at Kensington Palace.

Harry and William, accomplices at the time of unveiling the statue

However, this summer, Prince Harry returned to his family to inaugurate this famous statue with William. The ceremony took place on what would have been Diana’s 60th birthday. At the time, the two brothers appeared to be very accomplices, almost suggesting that the tensions of the past were forgotten. Indeed, this event took place shortly after the shock interview of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry with Oprah Winfrey. In the end, perhaps all is not yet forgiven?
