The relationship between Prince Harry and his family remains strained. There should even be radio silence with him and Prince Charles.
The fact that Prince Harry (37) and Duchess Meghan (40) made a detour to Great Britain on their trip to the Invictus Games in the Netherlands was interpreted as a step towards rapprochement. In the case of Queen Elizabeth II (96), that also seems to be true. Harry got along very well with his grandmother, as he himself revealed in a TV interview. However, this is said not to have been the case with another important person in the British royal family, as “The Sun” claims to have found out. Since then, there has allegedly been frosty radio silence between Prince Harry and his father Prince Charles (73).
The meeting between the two last week was “friendly but a little uncomfortable,” The Sun quotes an alleged insider as saying. After 15 minutes, father and son are said to have had nothing more to say to each other. What’s more, they’ve reportedly not spoken to each other on the phone since, although Harry’s subsequent visit to the Invictus Games would certainly have provided plenty of opportunity.
Next TV affront to his family?
On the contrary, Prince Harry is said to have once again caused irritation among the royal family in general and his father in particular through a TV interview. Prince Charles was “baffled” by the statements made by his son in the “Today” interview with journalist Hoda Kotb (57). In the conversation, Harry said, among other things, about his visit to the Queen: “I just wanted to make sure she was well protected and had the right people around her.”
In the interview, Harry also avoided a clear commitment to attend the Queen’s platinum jubilee next June. So he really wanted to “make sure that my children can meet them”. However, his plan could fail precisely on the subject of security: “I don’t know if I will come. There are numerous problems with security and with everything else.” Is Harry still angry that the royal family no longer wants to provide security for him since “Megxit”?
