Prince Harry: Camilla is the reason he shouldn’t attend Prince Charles’ coronation

When Queen Elizabeth dies, Prince Charles will become king. And his wife, Duchess Camilla, will also be given the title “Queen Consort”. A fact that Prince Harry does not like at all. It is said that he does not want to attend the coronation of the two if it takes place at Westminster Abbey.

This decision could drive another deep wedge between Prince Charles, 73, and his son Prince Harry, 37. It is said that the emigrant prince does not want to attend his father’s coronation when Duchess Camilla, 74, is named “Queen Consort”.

Prince Harry: Strained relationship with Duchess Camilla

Is the reason Camilla herself? Harry and Charles’ second wife are said to have always had a strained relationship. The two first met when Harry was 13 and his mother Princess Diana, † 36, died in a tragic accident in Paris. It had long been public knowledge that Charles and Camilla were having an extramarital affair, which is why Diana famously said in the scandalous BBC interview that “there were three of us in this marriage”.

It is understandable that Harry was therefore not on good terms with his future stepmother. He is said to have unsettled her with “long silences and smoldering, angry looks”. And although Harry and Camilla had come to terms with each other in the years that followed, Charles’ youngest son is said to have been appalled that Queen Elizabeth, 96, wants to make Camilla king consort: “William loved Camilla in terms of what she meant for his Father means accepted, he dealt with it as an adult. […] Harry on the other hand can’t stand Camilla, he doesn’t want Camilla to be queen, he’s very angry that this is happening. He hasn’t come to terms with it yet and probably never will,” royal expert Tina Brown told The Telegraph.

Absence at Prince Charles’ coronation?

Harry is said to be particularly upset that Camilla is likely to be crowned “Queen Consort” in Westminster Abbey. Princess Diana’s funeral service was held in the famous church on September 6, 1997. It would obviously hurt him deeply if Camilla were to be crowned where his mother’s coffin was only a few meters away. Apparently, this image has been burned into Harry’s mind forever, reports the news magazine “Private Eye”, according to “The Sun”.

However, this decision would also mean that Harry would also stay away from his father’s coronation. Will that be accepted by the Royal Family? Probably not. But it seems Harry isn’t planning the big reconciliation with the family anyway. In his memoirs, which will be published later this year, he is said to be unpacking all sorts of problems with his relatives – Camilla in particular is said to not come off well.
