Prince Harry wrote about the death of his mother Diana in the foreword of a children's book. The loss left "a big hole".

Prince Harry (36) designed the foreword to a special children's book. "Hospital by the Hill" is about the loss of a loved one through Covid-19. As "Harpers Bazaar" reports, the husband of Duchess Meghan (39) tells in the introductory words about his feelings after the death of his mother Diana (1961-1997). "If you read this book, you have lost a loved one. While I want to hug you the most, I hope that this story will give you comfort and that you know that you are not alone," he begins the foreword.

When he was a little boy, he lost his mother, continues Prince Harry. "At the time I didn't want to believe or accept it and it left a huge hole in me." However, the 36-year-old wants to encourage the children. "I know how you feel and I want to assure you that over time this hole will be filled with so much love and support. You will feel better and stronger once you are ready to talk about your feelings." he continues. Everyone deals with loss differently, but when a parent goes to Heaven, "I've been told that their spirit, love, and memories of them don't. They are always with you, and you can always be them." hold tight, "explains Prince Harry.

Book is provided free of charge

The book tells the story of a young person and the loss of his mother who worked on the front lines in the Corona crisis. The work of writer Chris Connaughton and illustrator Fay Troote is being made available free of charge, like it, to any child or young person in the UK affected in this way among other things in a tweet called.

"I wanted it to offer a connection, support and hope in the hard and terrible times of death," Connaughton said in a statement for Harpers Bazaar. "It is a tremendous honor – and a service to young people – that the Duke of Sussex is supporting this project and sharing his open, warm and honest words with children across the country." Princess Diana was killed in a car accident in Paris, France on August 31, 1997.
