Prince Harry + Duchess Meghan: disappointing results for “Archewell”

Amazing: Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan had more costs in the first year of their charity “Archewell” than the foundation brought in – according to their tax return, which has now been published.

Since moving to the US, the Sussexes have moved into an exclusive world of wealthy celebrity friends, multi-millionaires and super-rich business people. But their willingness to donate for the Royals’ heart project turns out to be extremely meager. The disappointing result of “Archewell” can now be seen by everyone. Prince Harry, 37, and Duchess Meghan, 40, have already been predicted by astrologers to have a tough year and it will start with an eventful start. According to her submitted tax return for last year, her own charity, Archewell, brought in far less than the expense.

Prince Harry + Duchess Meghan collected only 50,000 US dollars with “Archewell”

After moving to California, the couple decided to close their UK charity and set up a new US nonprofit called Archewell. As can be seen from the current tax documents, the “Daily Mail” is now available, the organization “Archewell” founded last year only raised 50,000 US dollars – the equivalent of around 44,000 euros. But the Sussexes had to spend more money on legal fees to dissolve their original British foundation “Sussex Royal” and set up “Archewell”, according to the records. To be precise, Harry and Meghan had to pay 55,600 US dollars – the equivalent of about 49,000 Euro – pay only for lawyers who closed their British non-profit organization “Sussex Royal”, which they founded in 2019.

“Archewell” received heavy criticism from the start

The couple founded a new US charity “Archewell” in the state of Delaware in 2020 after a month before the name of the organization was requested. Harry and Meghan’s charities have been mired in controversy since they were founded, which also divided their relationship with the British royals more and more. The Sussexes were also heavily criticized for moving the name of “Archewell” to Delaware – a US state known for low taxes and obscure cover-up tactics.

“Archewell” should only become profitable “when the time is ripe for it”

US-based charities are required to file a public “Form 990” with the US tax authorities each year listing their finances. The lack of donations to the Royals Foundation comes as a surprise after the couple made copious headlines last year with TV interviews and well-staged surprise appearances. Sources close to Harry and Meghan reported to “The Telegraph” that the Royals had deliberately delayed all official “Archewell” projects in order to focus on the coronavirus pandemic and the Black Lives Matter movement and only really seriously would begin “when the time is right”.
