First, the reporter, who is the son of the legendary “Superman” actor Christopher Reeve (1952-2004), asked the prince about his father’s cancer. Harry said he “jumped on a plane” to meet King Charles III. (75) to visit “as soon as I could”. When asked how emotional this trip was for him, Harry explained: “Um, look, I love my family. The fact that I could get on a plane and visit him and spend time with him at any time, I’m grateful for that .” Will Reese then asked how Harry assessed the royal’s health, and the Duke of Sussex replied: “That remains between me and him.”

The 39-year-old also revealed he was “grateful” to have seen his father in person and hopes the diagnosis can have a “unifying effect” on the royal family. Referring to his own father’s paralysis, Will Reeve says: “I have also found in my own life that an illness in the family can have a rousing or reunifying effect on a family.” When he asked if the same was possible with Harry, he replied: “Absolutely. Yes, I’m sure. In all of these families, I see every day how the strength of the family unit comes together. I think every illness brings families together.” He sees this again and again, especially through the Invictus Games, “and that makes me very happy.”
Harry is planning trips to Great Britain
When asked how he “processed the fact that so much is happening to your family and your homeland,” Harry replied, “I have my own family. My family and my life in California is what it is.” However, he has already planned further trips “that will take me through Great Britain or back to Great Britain.” He will then also visit his relatives “and see my family as often as possible.”
Lilibet and Archie are very humorous
“Good Morning America” interviewer Will Reeve also spoke about Harry’s role as father to Archie (4) and Lilibet (2). The royal didn’t want to reveal what he was like as a dad. “It’s secret,” he joked. However, Harry said: “The children are doing great. The children, like all children, are growing very, very quickly.” He then gave a little insight into everyday family life: “They both have an incredible sense of humor and make us laugh and keep us grounded every day, like most children do.” That’s why he’s “just very grateful” to be a father.
Harry thinks about US citizenship
And the brother of heir to the throne Prince William (41) had a fifth surprise in store. He revealed that he had been “thinking about” becoming a US citizen. But he’s obviously in no hurry: “American citizenship is a thought that has already crossed my mind, but certainly not something that has a high priority for me at the moment.”
