Prince Harry had apparently been thinking about naming his daughter Lili for some time.

Prince Harry (36) and Duchess Meghan (39) have become parents for the second time. After the birth of their son Archie (2) in May 2019, they now also have a daughter. The little girl goes by the name Lilibet “Lili” Diana Mountbatten-Windsor – and is named after Harry’s late mother, Princess Diana (1961-1997), and after her great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II (95). The monarch is affectionately called Lilibet by members of the British royal family. Harry apparently thought about what name he would give his daughter years ago.

Is Lili written with “I” or “Y”?

That at least suggests a brief conversation Harry had had with a British citizen before his son was born. The website of the British tabloid “Daily Mail” reported on the meeting in mid-January 2019. During a visit by Harry and Meghan, who was then pregnant with Archie, in the English city of Birkenhead, the Duchess told those present that the two of them did not know whether their first baby would be a boy or a girl. They wanted it to be a surprise.

There was also a mother of three who took her then six-year-old daughter Lily and two-year-old Lottie to meet the Royals. Harry had been talking to both children and when he was about to leave he turned around and asked Lily if her name was spelled with an “I” or a “Y”. “I immediately thought that was one of the possible names [Anm. d. Red.: für das Baby des Paares] must be “, explained the Briton at the time.

According to the report, Meghan had already spoken at the time that Harry would make a “fantastic father”. The couple moved to North America in 2020 and, after spending time in Canada and Los Angeles, now live in Montecito, California. The two tied the knot on May 19, 2018 at Windsor Castle.
