Prince Harry was in a hurry to leave after the coronation of his father King Charles – but not without a souvenir.

After the coronation of his father King Charles, 74, on May 6, 2023, Prince Harry, 38, wanted to disappear as quickly and as inconspicuously as possible. But a touching detail was noticed when leaving Westminster Abbey in the heart of London: The Duke of Sussex could not part with the program of the coronation service.

According to British media reports, Prince Harry’s lightning visit home lasted only 28 hours. According to the Daily Mail newspaper, he was allegedly invited to a private family dinner the evening after the coronation at Buckingham Palace.

It was there that King Charles toasted grandson Prince Archie’s fourth birthday and expressed sadness at his absence, an insider claims. However, most members of the royal family are said to have “sighed with relief” that Harry had not come. Duchess Meghan, 41, stayed at home in Montecito, California with her children Archie and Princess Lilibet, 1, anyway.

Prince Harry also wanted to fly back there as soon as possible in order to be able to witness the birthday of his eldest child, who had turned four on Coronation Day, for a few more hours. But before he climbed into a black car in front of Westminster Abbey after the ceremony, the program of the service could be seen in his hands. A touching souvenir that the prince may even have packed in his suitcase.
