Meghan’s confidant gives new meaning to his memoir title

After much hesitation, Prince Harry’s publisher finally announced the publication date of his memoirs a few days ago. The memoirs under the title “SPARE” will appear on January 10, 2022. The meaning of the name seems obvious, but now a friend of Duchess Meghan brings a completely different interpretation into the discussion.
It is probably one of the most eagerly awaited book releases this year: Prince Harry, 38, announced his memoirs in the summer of 2021. For a long time it was said that his memoirs would be published this fall. However, Royal fans have waited in vain for months for a release date. The death of Queen Elizabeth, † 96, at the beginning of September 2022 made a timely publication impossible. But now the date has finally been set: next year, on January 10, “SPARE” is to be released – and the title is already being hotly debated.

The impression is obvious: “SPARE” could stand for Harry’s role within the line of succession. He has long been the replacement for his brother Prince William, 40, the heir to the throne. Isolation and rejection go hand in hand with this name, as one could read in the first attempts at interpretation after the publication of the title. A thesis that a friend of Duchess Meghan, 41, now contradicts, according to “Express”. Canadian columnist and TV personality Elaine Lui, 49, names the positive note of the word, which when used as a verb can also mean “to have something left over”, “to save something” or “spare”: “Actually, it’s a really friendly verb. If that is really the case, the already announced German title would have to be reconsidered. In Germany you can now pre-order Prince Harry’s memoirs under the name “Reserve”. As long as the royal does not veto it, Elaine’s theory should be shelved again.
