In his autobiography, Prince Harry tells of an argument with his brother in which he tore the chain from his neck. During an interview, he shows off the necklace, which is said to be a gift from his ex, Chelsy Davy.
Shocking revelations come to light in Prince Harry’s autobiography, Spare. For example, Harry, 38, tells of a violent argument with his brother William, 41, in which he is said to have grabbed his collar and thrown him to the ground. The argument in which Prince William is said to have become violent took place in 2019 in London’s Nottingham Cottage, Harry’s home at the time, and Williams’ comments about Harry’s wife Meghan are said to have been the trigger.
A dispute between Prince Harry and Prince William escalated
Prince Harry describes how Prince William “grabbed my collar, tore my necklace and…threw me to the ground”. The necklace Prince Harry has worn for years – a leather bracelet with a pendant – is believed to be a gift from his ex-girlfriend Chelsy Davy, 37. While the black leather strap kept peeking out from under his shirt, the silver pendant has rarely been seen. It is a wide ring with a stone in the middle, knotted to the leather cord.

That’s what Prince Harry’s necklace is all about
The Daily Mail refers to a March 2012 report that Chelsy Davy gave Harry the necklace early in their turbulent relationship in Botswana. In Stephen Colbert’s “The Late Show” Harry is asked by the American host about the argument and the chain that he is wearing under his dark blue shirt that evening. Harry reveals the two new pendants to the public for the first time: “The chain is now repaired. […] My children’s heartbeats are attached to it, I got it as a gift from my wife. […] and from a friend of mine, in the middle, the tiger’s eye.” He holds the two silver discs with the cardiograms of the heartbeats of Archie, 3, and Lilibet, 1, up to the camera.
Other times: Chelsy Davy attends a concert in honor of Diana at London’s Wembley Arena with Prince Harry and Prince William.

A holdover from Prince Harry’s first serious relationship with Chelsy Davy
Still dangling between Meghan’s pendants is the round pendant, which was likely a gift from Chelsy Davy, with whom he shared his first kiss in Botswana in 2004. Princess Diana’s younger son, † 36, had an on-off relationship with the South African for seven years. Shortly after the two became a couple in 2004, Chelsy is said to have given him the necklace, which he has continued to wear since their split in 2011. The two are said to remain friends to this day, with Chelsy also among the guests at Harry and Meghan’s wedding in May 2018. The 37-year-old, who was born in Zimbabwe, is the founder of a jewelry label and has been married to hotelier Sam Cutmore-Scott since last year, who – like Harry and William – went to Eton College. The two have a son.
