The British newspaper "Mail on Sunday" has apologized to Prince Harry and has to pay damages that the Royal would like to donate.

Again and again the British royals had to take legal action against false reports in recent years – including Prince Harry (36), who has now won the dispute with the publisher of the British tabloid "Mail on Sunday" and the associated online service "Mail Online" "has achieved. According to a report by the Guardian, both parties have come to an agreement.

Defamatory allegations

The newspaper alleged last year that Harry had allegedly neglected his relationship with the British Royal Marines. This is said to be "unfounded, false and defamatory" allegations. Even if a recently published apology did not "explicitly" state, according to a royal attorney, that the allegations were false and that the "seriousness of the allegations" had been downplayed, the report said Harry accepted the apology.

In addition, the publisher would have to pay "considerable compensation" that Harry wanted to donate. The apology said that the publisher was donating an amount, but the Royal wanted to hand it over to the Invictus Games Foundation. The latter takes care of hosting the Paralympic sporting event Invictus Games, in which war-disabled soldiers compete. The prince himself was a soldier and helped bring the event to life.
