Prince Harry: Not Meghan! SHE was his soul mate

Florence St. George turned Prince Harry’s head in 2011. In his memoirs, he recalls the particularly strong connection that ended abruptly.

Prince Harry, 38, dedicates a short but very concise chapter to his ex-girlfriend Florence St. George, 37, (formerly Brudenell-Bruce) in his memoirs “Spare”. In 2011, he was head over heels in love with the then British model. “Was she maybe the person I was meant for?” the Duke of Sussex even asked himself. But their relationship came to a tragic end…

Prince Harry met Florence after the jealousy drama about Chelsy

Actually, more than ten years ago, Prince Harry just wanted to break up with his long-term girlfriend Chelsy Davy, 37, get over it. But at Prince Williams, 40, and Catherine, Princess of Wales, 41, wedding on April 29, 2011, a drama of jealousy occurred. Seeing today’s entrepreneur there was not easy for him. “I still felt a lot of feelings for her,” writes the prince in “Spare”. But what annoyed him even more: “The slavering men” who “constantly urged her to dance with them.” Jealousy grabbed him, he made a scene with Chelsy, and then only felt more “pathetic”.

Friends tried to help him get over his lovesickness, “arranged dates”. Nothing helped – and then someone mentioned Florence, an “intelligent, beautiful” young woman who is currently single. Harry was skeptical, but agreed to meet and it “actually sparked”. “We sat at the bar chatting and laughing with everything around us […] seemed to be disappearing,” the prince recalls.

Harry was crazy about Florence

He had a nightcap with her and other friends at Clarence House and then accompanied her to her house in Notting Hill. There she invited him for tea. “That first cup of Earl Gray made me wonder, ‘Maybe she was the person I was meant to be?'” Harry wondered at the time, saying:

The connection between us was so strong! But I was just as crazy. After her.

He saw that she noticed. Florence apparently felt the same way. The following week describes the grandson of the late Queen Elizabeth, † 96, as “idyllic. We met frequently, laughed a lot and nobody knew about it” – until the press got curious …

“They will follow you to hell”

“In tears” Florence called Harry. A number of paparazzi besieged her house, the media described the prince’s girlfriend as an “underwear model”, although she had only been photographed in lingerie once. The 37-year-old artist worried about her reputation and repeatedly said to Harry: “I can’t do it anymore”. During their last phone call, the Royal begged Florence to meet her again. But she didn’t want to. It was over.

Weeks later, a friend who set Harry up with the former actress had confessed to the prince that she was back with her ex – Henry Edward Hugh St George, whom Florence married in 2013. The Duke of Sussex also learned that it was her mother who insisted on ending the relationship. According to the memoir, she is said to have said to her daughter: “You [die Presse] will follow you to hell.”

Florence St. George has worked as a ceramic artist since her postnatal depression in 2013, found “the process of designing and sculpting clay” to be therapeutic, according to her website – and now makes her money from it. It’s a completely different life than what she might have had if she hadn’t said “no” to Harry on the phone back then.
