Prince Harry returns to London for the Invictus Games anniversary. His participation is certain, but – as has now been confirmed – he will arrive without his wife, Duchess Meghan. It could be a few lonely days for him, also because his family apparently doesn’t want to give him shelter.

The media has been speculating for weeks as to whether Prince Harry, 39, will take part in the tenth anniversary of the “Invictus Games” in London. However, there was even more discussion about whether the royal would take his family with him to Great Britain – and where they would stay. The first two questions have already been answered on the sporting event’s official Instagram page. The latter apparently received a clear answer from palace circles.

Duchess Meghan is not traveling to London

It has now been denied whether Duchess Meghan will accompany her husband and the children to his appearance in London. Journalist Chris Ship from the British television channel ITV writes on However, she will become her husband on his trip to Nigeria inspired by the Invictus Games, he continues to write.

Prince Harry returns to London without his family

A picture showing Prince Harry with a member of the Invictus community reads: “The Invictus Games Foundation will celebrate 10 years of changing lives and saving lives with a service of thanksgiving at St. Paul’s Cathedral on May 8th Our patron, Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex, actor Damian Lewis and members of the global Invictus community will join us to celebrate the occasion.”

There is no mention of Duchess Meghan. As has now been confirmed, the actress will probably stay in her adopted home of California with her children Archie, 4, and Lilibet, 2. Even before the announcement, there were several reasons for her to stay away.

For one thing, Prince Harry’s son Archie celebrates his fifth birthday just two days before the event in London. Royal experts assume that Meghan wants to spend it in Montecito and not in Great Britain. On the other hand, the ex-“Suits” star is said to have great concerns about the safety of her children. The Sussexes are not entitled to any security service in Great Britain – the family has to pay for this themselves. In addition, “Mirror” suspected that Meghan is also afraid of hostility in her husband’s homeland.

The gates of Windsor Castle remain closed

So Harry travels solo to his old homeland. And as with his previous flying visits, the question remains: Where will he lay his head? The answer to that shouldn’t be surprising anymore, but there’s always a bit of strangeness about it. As various British media report, a hotel bed is waiting for the royal. Apparently King Charles, 75, does not want to make a place for his lost son at Windsor Castle, as reported by GB News, among others. The “Mirror”, meanwhile, apparently already has an idea which upscale establishment the Royal might have booked: “The Goring Hotel” is said to have a good chance, with room prices at around 8,000 pounds (around 9,300 euros).

Will Prince Harry visit his sister-in-law Catherine?

But even more than Harry’s nocturnal oasis of peace, the British are currently only concerned with one topic: Will he take the time to visit his sister-in-law Catherine, Princess of Wales, 42? The royal has not seen his brother Prince William’s wife, 41, since it was announced that she had cancer. After it became public that King Charles, 75, was suffering from cancer, Prince Harry only spent 26 hours in England – of which he is said to have only spent 30 minutes with his father. It remains to be seen whether Kate will receive her brother-in-law. It is not known how long Harry will be in London.
