Sharp criticism of Prince Andrew and his “shameful scandal”

Prince Harry unpacks in his memoir “Spare”. In addition to a few jabs at his brother, the Duke of Sussex also fired at Prince Andrew and condemned his sex scandal in the strongest possible terms.
In his memoirs “Spare”, Prince Harry, 38, addresses the scandal surrounding his uncle Prince Andrew, 62. He was civilly sued by Virginia Giuffre, 39, for his connection to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, † 66. The allegation: The royal is said to have sexually abused Giuffre several times when he was just 17 years old. Andrew and the plaintiff settled out of court early last year on a financial settlement. As a result, the prince was stripped of all military affiliations and royal patronage. This punishment wasn’t hard enough for Harry.
Prince Harry denounces Andrew’s sex scandal
In a passage from his tell-all book, already available to the Daily Mail, Harry describes how his wife, Duchess Meghan, 41, asked him if the royal family would be reducing their security measures after they left Britain for North America. He told her that this was “impossible” because his uncle was still being protected after all. But it was to be different: Harry and Meghan were withdrawn from police protection after their retirement as senior royals. Last year, the Duke of Sussex sued the Home Office after being told he could not pay for the Metropolitan Police to provide security for him and his family when visiting the UK.
“Even though he was involved in a shameful scandal and was accused of sexually abusing a young woman, nobody had suggested taking his security away,” writes the 38-year-old, adding: “People had many reasons to complain about complaining that sex crimes weren’t one of them.” With that, Harry makes his opinion of his uncle more than clear. However, this could have consequences – Harry could lose a confidante as a result.
Is Harry destroying his relationship with Princess Eugenie?
At least since the Netflix documentary, it has become common knowledge that Prince Harry and Princess Eugenie, 32, have a close relationship. She was one of the first to know about her cousin’s relationship with the former ‘Suits’ actress. The night before the 2017 big reveal, they went to one final Halloween party together — incognito in costumes. “Harry & Meghan” also shows Eugenie visiting the couple in California and also having a good relationship with Archie, 3.
But Eugenie also sticks by her father. Formed a unit with Andrew and her sister Princess Beatrice, 34, after the death of Queen Elizabeth, †96, at the service at Balmoral and at the state funeral. The fact that Harry is now the first to publicly address Royal Andrews’ sex scandal could drive a wedge between him and his cousin. With that, Harry would lose the only member of the British royal family he is still close to.
