In an article published on Thursday, September 22, The Mirror returned to the sequence of events on the day of the announcement of the death of Queen Elizabeth II. The 96-year-old monarch was at her beloved Balmoral Castle that day when her condition deteriorated. Very quickly, his children and grandchildren were alerted to come and say goodbye as soon as possible. And if the future King Charles III, Camilla Parker Bowles and Princess Anne were in Scotland at the time and were able to join Elizabeth II before her death, the Queen’s other relatives have quickly caught a plane and arrived together…without Prince Harry.
Prince Harry offended by Charles III ban
According to information revealed by the British daily, Prince Harry reportedly arrived late at Balmoral Castle for good reason. Indeed, the new king of England would have telephoned him to tell him that he would not be “not appropriate“that Meghan Markle be present with him. He would have justified the fact that Kate Middleton did not accompany Prince William. A ban that would have quickly led to telephone negotiations between Prince Harry and his father, without success.
Because of this heated discussion, the son of Lady Diana would have missed his plane which was to transport him to Scotland with Prince Andrew, Prince Edward and Prince William. According to The Sun : “Prince Harry was so busy trying to bring Meghan with him to Balmoral and arguing with his family, he missed his flight“. He has then makes travel arrangements alone and arrived in Aberdeen at 6.35pm, minutes after the Queen’s death was officially announced.
An invitation to dinner declined by the brother of Prince William
According to several British newspapers, Prince Harry would have been invited to dine with the new King Charles III, Queen Consort Camilla and her brother, Prince William, on the evening of the Queen’s death. An invitation he would have quickly declined, as he was still “furious” of his father’s ban. His refusal would then have been very badly perceived by his relatives. Finally, the father of Archie and Lilibet would have spent the evening with the Duke of York and the Countess of Wessex.
The next day, Prince Harry would have been the first to leave Balmoral Castle. He would have gone very early to Aberdeen and would have taken a commercial flight of British Airways whose takeoff was scheduled for 8:28. A way for the 38-year-old to spend as little time as possible with family and quickly find his wife, Meghan Markle.
In a few months, prince Harry went several times to England, in particular to present his daughter Lilibet to her grandmother or on the occasion of the jubilee. During his meetings with his relatives, he tried to calm the situation, without success. According to royal expert Katie Nicholl, Prince William’s brother even proposed the presence of a mediator to settle their disputes.
