Prince Harry paid a visit to James Corden's TV show. In it he also explained what led to the "Megxit".

Prince Harry (36) was a guest on "The Late Late Show with James Corden". In the TV show of the British presenter, with whom the grandson of Queen Elizabeth II (94) is friends, Harry declared to the "Megxit": He and his wife, Duchess Meghan (39), had "never left the royal family ". They have "resigned" but not "ceded".

The reason that he moved to California with Meghan and their son Archie (1) in 2020 after their resignation as working members of the Royals was the "really difficult environment" in his home country. He referred to the British tabloids. This "poisoned" atmosphere destroyed his mental health. "So I did what any father or husband would do and thought about how to get my family out of there." But he had not "gone away", his life was the service of the public and that will be the case all over the world, Harry explained. The interview was recorded before the official "Megxit". The palace announced in a public announcement last week that after Harry and Meghan withdrew, it would not be possible to continue "the responsibilities and duties associated with a life of service to the people."

That was Archie's first word

The 17-minute joint TV appearance by Corden and Prince Harry was not all serious. The two British were chauffeured through Los Angeles in a tourist bus. On the open deck of the vehicle, the Duke of Sussex revealed, among other things, that Archie's first word was "crocodile" and that the Queen gave the one-year-old a waffle iron for Christmas. He also explained that both the Queen and Prince Philip (99) use Zoom and that they see Archie "walking around" in California.

The presenter and his prominent guest then stopped at the villa where the series "The Prince of Bel-Air" was filmed in the 90s. On site, Harry also rapped part of the theme song, which was originally written by Will Smith. While Prince Harry was using the bathroom in the house, Corden tried to convince Meghan via video call that they had to make an offer to buy the villa's owners. After all, what could be more appropriate than a real prince in the "Prince of Bel Air" house. Meghan, who calls her husband "Haz", laughingly refused – they have moved enough now. The Sussexes had moved to Canada from the UK for a few months before moving to a temporary mansion in Beverly Hills. Meanwhile, Meghan and Harry have bought their own property in Montecito.

This is what Harry thinks about "The Crown"

On meeting Meghan, Harry reported that members of the royal family do it the wrong way around on dates. The first meetings take place at home, you only go public when you are officially together. He and Meghan would have spent a lot of time together at the beginning. "There were no distractions and that was great, it was an amazing thing. We went from zero to 60 in the first two months."

Corden also asked Prince Harry what he thought of the Netflix series "The Crown", which traces the life of the Queen. The TV show is fictional, according to the queen's grandson, and does not pretend to be the truth, but the series is "loosely based" on the facts. The viewer gets a rough idea of what this lifestyle and pressure mean to put duty and service above family.

He feels much more comfortable with "The Crown" than with the stories that have been written about my family, my wife or myself, "said Harry, who himself has signed a lucrative Netflix deal with Meghan. He would like to be played by Damian Lewis himself, he joked. At the end of his TV appearance, Harry also put his fitness to the test. Together with James Corden he completed a military course in which he crawled through the mud, among other things.
