His copper-colored hair is actually Prince Harry’s, 38, trademark. But has he said goodbye to his hair color now? In a new portrait published on the company’s website, Betterup, along with his profile, the Duke looks very different. But it’s not just the color that’s no longer reminiscent of old Harry: his hair looks a lot thicker.

Where has Harry’s red cast gone? There is also no trace of the light spots that are more and more exposed on his scalp year after year.

Just over a week ago, there was no evidence of a hairy transformation from the prince. In Singapore on August 12, he played a charity polo tournament to support Sentebale’s work with children and youth affected by poverty, inequality and HIV/AIDS in Southern Africa. While he shakes the hand of a person in charge at the award ceremony, his hair is unchanged: a light copper tone runs through his hairstyle. His progressive hair loss on the back of his head is already spreading further ahead.

Harry described his older brother William’s hair loss as “alarming” in his memoir “Spare”, saying that it was “more advanced than mine”. A topic that seems to have occupied him for a long time. Has he decided to take a different path from his brother and do something about his thinning hair?

Did Prince Harry help with his hair?

When you look at the “Betterup” photo, you immediately notice the change in hair color. This could appear darker and less copper-colored due to dimmed lighting during photo production or post-processing. Of course it is also possible to make light spots on the scalp appear fuller in the image processing. But why would Harry do that when countless photos reveal what his hair really looks like?

Hair transplantation, in which hair follicles are removed from other parts of the body and placed on the scalp, is an increasingly popular method of counteracting genetic hair loss in men. Such an intervention is optically traceable for about six months, since the newly inserted hair follicles differ from the existing ones. The transplanted hair roots fall out after about three months and only then grow back again. So if Harry had undergone such a procedure after the Singapore polo tournament, there’s no way his hair would look this thick in the portrait after just a week. If he had done it before his Singapore visit, it would have been obvious. So a hair transplant is very unlikely the reason behind Prince Harry’s full head of hair.

But what other options are there? Maybe root powder was used in the photo shoot. Such a product is comparable to an eye shadow, which makes the hairline appear thicker. Root powder is available in all hair colors. It is dabbed onto bald or light spots with a sponge or brush. After just a few seconds, the hair looks significantly fuller – the result also looks natural. Maybe that’s the miracle cure that helped the brush to temporarily fuller hair.
