That’s why Charles’ grandson left the coronation early
Five-year-old Prince Louis yawned heartily during the service. Since the ceremony lasted two hours, he was allowed to leave the church in between.

Little Prince Louis didn’t witness the entirety of his grandfather Charles III’s coronation ceremony. tracked. There’s a reason for that.
The Coronation of King Charles III. (74) was the first major formal event for Prince Louis (5). However, the youngest son of Prince William, 40, and Princess Kate, 41, did not attend the entire two-hour coronation ceremony. How the British “Hello” reported, his early departure from Westminster Abbey was planned.
He left Westminster Abbey with his nanny
Because of his young age, Louis was allowed to leave the solemn service with his nanny, Maria Teresa Turrion Borrallo. He had shown himself to be patient during the lengthy event. At previous appointments, Louis attracted attention with cheeky poses. At Westminster Abbey, however, the five-year-old remained mostly quiet, holding hands with his sister Charlotte, 8, who was sitting next to him. In the meantime, however, he also fidgeted and yawned.
He was in the procession again
After the service, the Mini-Royal reunited with his family. He left the abbey with William, Kate, Charlotte and his older brother George (9) and rode with them in a carriage back to the palace. The short break had obviously done him good: Louis cheerfully waved to the many spectators along the route.
The coronation was his first major official ceremony. At the funeral of his great-grandmother Elizabeth II (1926-2022) in September, Kate and William preferred to leave him at home. For his grandfather’s special day, he wore a Hainsworth Garter Blue Doeskin tunic with specially designed lace trimmings on the collar, cuffs and front, made by bespoke Savile Row tailors Dege and Skinner.
