Scandal with announcement: Prince Marcus von Anhalt in “Celebrities under palm trees”

Trash TV did not go too far with Prince Marcus von Anhalt. His homophobic “celebrities under palm trees” statements are a new low point.

Conflict brings quota. Strictly speaking, the Romans already knew that. The modern Colosseum is called Trash-TV, instead of using a short sword and trident nowadays celebrity gladiators fight each other – but not exclusively – with verbal attacks and at the right time with injunctions. Most of the time it was just about as good for everyone involved, but more and more often heads were rolling in the end.

In the past few years in particular, the density of scandals has increased massively. Not least because, year after year, the attention-seeking lows of previous seasons of the trash formats have to be undercut. In a conceivably despicable way, this was achieved at the start of the new “Celebrities under Palms” season. Brothel owner and adoptive Prince Marcus von Anhalt (54) blared homophobic, inhuman rubbish into the cameras at prime time. Sender Sat.1 only left after the uncut broadcast of the recorded program and the following Shitstorm announced via Instagram statementthat Prince Marcus von Anhalt “will not take place in any future show on Sat.1”. After all, the episode has now been deleted online.

Hate TV instead of trash TV?

Trash TV seems to be turning more and more into hate TV. The first season of “Celebrities under Palms” caused a scandal. At that time, would-be self-made millionaire Bastian Yotta (44) largely canceled himself when he caused a bullying scandal. For his contempt for fellow campaigner Claudia Obert (59), he not only reached into the lowest verbal drawer, but in the end also the victory and a bonus of 100,000 euros. The urge for insight is likely to have been kept within limits here as well.

In addition to “Celebrities under palm trees”, this also applies again and again to “The Stars’ Summer House”. In the RTL format, celebrities have been bothering each other with camp fever for five years. In season five alone there were several scandal. It started when Georgina Fleurs (31) on-off fiancé Kubilay Özdemir spat in the face of his opponent Andrej Mangold (34) after a dispute. In the end, Fleur and Özdemir were the first couple to move out, but they did so voluntarily.

But even Mangold did not get off better a little later. When the former “Bachelor” candidate Eva Benetatou (29) and her fiancé Chris Broy moved into the house, the spit victim turned into a bullying aggressor himself. Together with his girlfriend at the time, Jennifer Lange (27), Mangold repeatedly gave gifts against the finalist of his “Bachelor” season, from whom he had withheld the last rose at the time. At some point that was too much even for the also not squeamish “summer house” roommates and Mangold’s clean image was permanently damaged. Just like Lange’s – both subsequently lost advertising deals.

Two formats, one constant

The circle has now come full circle in the person of trash permanent guest Willi Herren (45). He can be seen in the current “Celebs under palm trees” season and already got into a serious mess with a participant in “The Stars’ Summer House”. In season four of the RTL show, he quarreled with dating show celebrity Johannes Haller (33) to such an extent that he according to his own statement, even an injunction initiated. While Haller accused the singer of alcoholism, Herren accused him of beating his girlfriend at the time, Yeliz Koc (27).

So now “celebrities under palm trees”. Seven episodes of the second season are still pending. So a lot of time for a new low.
