Ex-principal reveals he was expelled from scandal school

In the course of the scandal surrounding the Danish posh boarding school Herlufsholm, more and more information is coming to light. A former rector has revealed that Prince Joachim’s son Prince Nikolai was once expelled from school for several days.
The Herlufsholm scandal has been making waves in Denmark since the TV documentary on May 5, 2022. In it, 50 former students of the elite boarding school described scenes of systematic violence and sexual abuse. The rector was fired and the police are investigating. In an interview with the Danish television channel “TV 2 Øst” on May 8, former principal Klaus Eusebius Jakobsen reveals that Prince Nikolai, 22, was once expelled from school for several days because of a violation. His mother Alexandra from Frederiksborg, 57, confirms this fact.

Denmark’s heir to the throne, Prince Christian, 16, has been attending boarding school since 2021. It is questionable whether his parents Princess Mary, 50, and Prince Frederik, 53, will now take him out of school. In 2018, Prince Nikolai graduated from high school on Herlufsholm and has lived there since 2014. In an interview with “TV 2 Øst”, Jakobsen now defends the scandalous Nobel boarding school. He was principal there from 1993 to 2016. He describes the claim that the school administration held the hand over students from the upper classes as a “myth” and provides an example.
“A few years ago we had a student here who was a member of the royal family. People know who I’m talking about,” said the ex-principal, revealing: “He broke one of the school’s alcohol rules and I have to say I was freezing.” For Klaus Eusebius Jakobsen there was no doubt that the student should receive a warning. When asked directly whether the example concerned Prince Nikolai, the now 22-year-old son of Prince Joachim, 52, and his ex-wife Alexandra, he replies succinctly: “Yes, that’s how it is.”
According to Jakobsen, Prince Joachim, who was informed about the reference, “reacted incredibly positively”: “He was […] glad we brought it up like most parents do when something is wrong. We then got in touch with them […] to ask for support for future behavior.”
Nikolai’s mother confirms the reference and is “shocked” by the scandal
Helle von Wildenrath Løvgreen, Alexandra’s spokeswoman, confirmed the incident on May 10 to the Danish tabloid “Ekstra Bladet”. “The Countess can confirm that Prince Nikolai has received a warning and been sent home for a few days. Both parents have spoken to him about this,” the statement said.
A few days ago, Alexandra von Frederiksborg was “deeply shocked” by the scandalous revelations about the boarding school, from which she sharply distanced herself. She also emphasized that Nikolai had “only good memories of his school days”.
