Prince Oscar is currently without his parents. Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel travel through Australia and New Zealand and keep a number of official appointments. This bothers the little prince, as a Swedish magazine claims to have found out.
Princess Victoria, 45, and Prince Daniel, 49, have been traveling on behalf of the crown since February 13, 2023. The couple first keeps appointments in Australia before continuing on to New Zealand. Her last appearance is on February 18, but Victoria and Daniel will only land in Sweden on February 20 – a day that Prince Oscar, 6, in particular, is already looking forward to.

“Of course, it’s never easy for a mother to leave her children, and Victoria is no exception,” a close friend of the Illu royal family revealed to Hänt Extra. “It’s always a difficult situation when they embark on longer trips,” continues the anonymous source, emphasizing:
There have already been many tears on Haga when Victoria had to tell the children that she was going away again.
Unlike his older sister, Princess Estelle, 10, Prince Oscar is still suffering greatly from his parents’ absence. The fact that the two come along was never up for debate. “No, that was never discussed,” explains court information chief Margaretha Thorgren to “Svensk Damtidning” and makes it clear: “It is an official business trip and Princess Estelle and Prince Oscar are at school.” However, Thorgren does not want to reveal who exactly takes care of Estelle and Oscar during Victoria and Daniel’s absence: “This is a private matter that we do not pass on to the media.”

All the better that Princess Estelle and Prince Oscar will soon be hugging their parents again and can look forward to exciting stories. “Across the globe, in wintry Stockholm, I know our two children are eagerly awaiting news of – among other fascinating things – Australian koalas and kangaroos,” Crown Princess Victoria said during a speech on February 13. By then at the latest, the longing for mum and dad will have fizzled out in no time.
