Final preparations for Prince Philip’s farewell are underway at Windsor Castle. The armed police secure the area.

The world says goodbye on April 17th to Prince Philip (1921-2021), who died on April 9th ​​at the age of 99. The memorial service for the long-time husband of Queen Elizabeth II (94) is to begin at 4 p.m. German time. On Saturday, the final preparations were made in the run-up to the ceremony, before which there will also be a short procession.

In order to ensure the safety of the Queen and the only 30 mourners present because of the pandemic, the British police are present with a large number of people before the funeral. The British “Sun” published numerous pictures, among other things, on which partly heavily armed police officers can be seen patrolling around the castle in order to avoid possible dangers. Police boats have also been sighted.

At the “Daily Mail” was also mentioned by hundreds of police officers who cordoned off the area around Windsor Castle. Special forces had previously searched for possible explosive devices in the area and, for example, also checked mailboxes and sewer access. According to the report, thousands of onlookers are expected in an emergency. Among other things, on signs, however, the public was asked not to gather in front of the castle because of the corona pandemic.
