Prince Philip: He would be ‘angry’ at Harry’s absence from memorial service

Prince Harry

On March 29, 2022, Prince Philip’s life will be honored at London’s Westminster Abbey. However, Prince Harry will not make it to the memorial service. Royal expert Ingrid Seward is sure that the prince consort would have been more than disappointed.

Prince Harry, 37, gives his family the next stab in the back with his cancellation of the memorial service for Prince Philip, † 99. Once again, the rift seems deeper and more incisive than ever. Does Queen Elizabeth, 95, who always stood behind her grandson, still have such a close bond with him? She, too, is likely to be bitterly hurt by her grandson’s absence.

Royal author Ingrid Seward explains in an interview with “Mirror” why Harry’s cancellation seriously hurt the monarch and why it is more important than ever that Duchess Meghan’s husband, 40, stands by his family.

Prince Harry remains in the US due to lack of security

Seward insists Prince Philip would have been “angry” at the 37-year-old’s complacency. After all, the royal is not traveling to the commemoration for one reason: he doesn’t feel “safe” enough in Great Britain because the state no longer wants to pay for its security costs in the kingdom. In principle, Harry could do it himself (at least for this one visit). But Harry seems to be concerned with principle. If he were to travel to London now, the British Home Office would never give in and would advocate that the royal be responsible for his own safety.

Seward sees Harry’s ignorance not only as a disappointment for the late Prince Consort, but above all for Her Majesty. “Even someone as humble as the Queen might have expected a little better luck at the height of their 70-year reign,” Seward explains. Queen Elizabeth herself is determined to attend the memorial service, “no matter how difficult it is for her to get there. She knows he would expect it.”

Royals from all over Europe will travel to London

The fact that Prince Harry does not want to set it up due to disputes, but the Queen is doing everything possible despite physical ailments to be able to take part in the event, speaks volumes. And at the same time causes even more trouble for the Duke of Sussex.

In addition to the Queen, many other members of the British royal family are expected to attend the service. In addition, both the Swedish, Dutch and Spanish royals have confirmed their participation. Despite the ongoing pandemic, the royal houses of Europe are set to travel to England to commemorate Prince Philip. In the eyes of royal experts, it’s a disgrace that Prince Harry doesn’t show the same respect to his family.
