Prince Philip is back at Windsor Castle. In an initial statement, he now expresses his thanks to the medical staff.

After a month in hospital, Prince Philip (99) is back home. On Tuesday (March 16), the Duke of Edinburgh and husband of Queen Elizabeth II (94) was allowed to leave King Edward VII's Hospital in central London. According to the BBC, he is now at Windsor Castle.

Buckingham Palace confirmed the Prince Consort's dismissal. The 99-year-old had started the journey home "after the treatment of an infection and a successful procedure for an existing illness", quoted the public broadcaster of the United Kingdom from the statement. He continued: "His Royal Highness would like to thank all the medical staff who have looked after him and everyone who has sent their good wishes."
