Prince Charles visited his father in the hospital as the first member of the family. Pictures show the royal with tears in his eyes.

After several days in the hospital, Prince Philip (99) was able to look forward to a visit on Saturday afternoon. As reported by the British Daily Mail, among others, his son, Prince Charles (72), stopped by at around 3:30 p.m. at King Edward VII Hospital in London, where the Duke of Edinburgh has been staying since Tuesday.

Emotional visit

The newspaper also published pictures showing Prince Charles arriving at the private facility. It looks like the 72-year-old's eyes are filled with tears. He was the first member of the royal family to visit Prince Philip locally. The Royal is said to have spent around half an hour with his father before returning home to Highgrove.

Queen Elizabeth II's husband, 94, was admitted to the hospital on February 16 as a precautionary measure. He had previously felt uncomfortable. As a precaution, he should stay there until the coming week.
