This year’s Trooping the Colour parade was an emotional event. It was also very special for Prince William and Catherine, Princess of Wales. After Kate’s return to the public eye, the two drew a positive conclusion.

It was “a memorable day” for the British royals and first and foremost for Catherine, Princess of Wales, 42, her husband Prince William, 41, and their children Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6. For the first time since announcing her cancer in March, Kate appeared in public again and made a wonderful appearance at “Trooping the Colour”.

Catherine, Princess of Wales, finds beautiful words

On Instagram, the family drew an initial conclusion of the day on Saturday evening, June 15, 2024. Some pictures that the family showed during the military parade in honor of King Charles, 75, were captioned: “A memorable day at the parade for the King’s birthday. […] Thank you for making this day one to remember.” This is followed by a rain cloud emoji, alluding to the unpredictable English weather and the heavy rain showers.

The beautiful photos make it clear that the Royal Family really enjoyed the big event. They are not the only pictures they shared. A few hours earlier, numerous video clips from “Trooping the Colour” showing a beaming Kate and a happy family were also posted on Instagram in two posts.

Her surprising appearance

Princess Kate only publicly announced on Friday evening that she would be taking part in the parade. The wife of the British heir to the throne is currently undergoing cancer treatment and is currently receiving chemotherapy. “I am making good progress, but as anyone who undergoes chemotherapy knows, there are good days and bad days. On those days you feel weak and tired and you need to let your body recover. But on good days, when you feel stronger, you want to make the most of feeling good,” Princess Kate wrote about her return.

Kate is undergoing “preventive chemotherapy”

Kate announced in March that she has cancer and is undergoing “preventive chemotherapy”. Since then, she has not attended any official appointments. For several weeks, there has been speculation that she might take part in “Trooping the Colour”.
