William, Kate and the kids’ favorite places in Windsor

In 2022, Prince William, his wife Catherine, Princess of Wales, and their three children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis moved from their apartment at Kensington Palace in London to Adelaide Cottage, about an hour’s drive from the capital. They quickly found their way here and discovered their favorite places.

The family can often be seen at the Royal Farms Windsor Farm Shop. Just a mile from their home, the store, which opened in 2001, provides the family with locally sourced produce and delicacies. The shop, which was converted from a Victorian flower shed and has an attached café, is known not only for its exquisite goods, but also for its organic coffee and fine baked goods. It is a place where Princess Kate, freshly recovered from her operation, while shopping with William showed that they can live some normality here.

The children enjoy the freedom and adventure that comes with it Windsor Castle, the residence of King Charles, 75, offers. The 100th anniversary of the famous “Queen Mary’s Dolls’ House”, a masterpiece of miniature craftsmanship, delights the young royals as well as the castle’s extensive gardens and grounds. Here they can ride bikes, race their scooters and play undisturbed.

Another magical place for the family is Windsor Great Park. This extensive area also offers the equestrian enthusiast Prince George the opportunity to learn to ride. Under the tutelage of William’s cousin and equestrian Olympian Zara Tindall, 42, gets his first riding experience here on a Shetland pony. The park is also a closed wildlife park and home to a herd of semi-wild red deer.
Christmas Tree Shop
In the run-up to Christmas, the Christmas Tree Shop in Windsor Great Park becomes a festive family meeting place. Here William and Kate and their children choose their Christmas tree – a tradition that was also maintained by the late Queen Elizabeth, †96. King Charles is also said to have bought his Christmas trees here.
Lapland UK
Not far from the family home is Lapland UK, a winter family hotspot that opens its doors in the winter months. Santa’s Christmas village is recreated here. Princess Charlotte and Prince George have had exciting moments meeting Santa Claus and his elves in Lapland UK. The little royals were also able to ice skate and decorate gingerbread here.
These royal family haunts in Windsor offer a glimpse into a life characterized by royal family values, tradition and yet the utmost normality that Kate and William want to preserve for their children. The whole family enjoys the simple things in life.
