Kate visited a children’s hospice in Milton on Thursday afternoon. Her husband William was there for the first time.

Prince William, 40, and Duchess Kate, 40, visited a children’s hospice run by East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) in Milton on June 23. The organization takes care of terminally ill, incurable children and young people.

The visit reminded them of the “inspiring resilience of the children who are cared for here, the incredible strength of their families and the unwavering support of the staff”. the royals explained on Instagram, among other things. They also published a short clip that shows the two with some children and their families and also in conversation with employees and helpers.

Kate’s first public visit

According to the organization, it was Kate’s first public visit to Milton – and the first time she had visited the facility with William. The Duchess has been Patron since 2012 and supports EACH’s important work in the Cambridgeshire, Essex, Norfolk and Suffolk regions.

According to EACH’s Phil Gormley, it was “a very special, memorable and meaningful day”. Among other things, Prince William and Duchess Kate spoke to the employees about how challenging the past few years have been, especially because of the corona pandemic. Kate supports her “with warmth, empathy and understanding” even away from the public.

According to its own statements, the organization is currently taking care of more than 580 children, young people and their families. Milton Children’s Hospice was opened in the summer of 1989 by William’s late mother, Princess Diana (1961-1997).
