William and Kate went to a drive-in theater with Prince Philips Vintage Cars during their Scotland tour. Before that there was a “Cruella” star talk.

As part of their visit to Scotland, Prince William (38) and Duchess Kate (39) came to an open-air screening of the new Disney film “Cruella” on Wednesday in a 1966 2A Land Roverwhich once belonged to Prince Williams’ late grandfather Prince Philip (1921-2021).

Queen Elizabeth II’s husband, 95, was such a huge fan of these British vehicles that his coffin was driven on a bespoke Land Rover at his funeral on April 17th. The car was “designed and made to measure according to the Duke’s specifications,” reported Buckingham Palace at the time.

Star talk before going to the cinema

Two days before the film was shown in the drive-in theater, the Royales had a video chat with two of the film’s stars, British actress Emma Thompson (62) and her US colleague Emma Stone (32). The royal couple thanked the two for showing the film for NHS workers at the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh, the Queen’s official residence in Scotland.

Kate then asked the actresses about the filming in London, and Stone revealed that they were filming a scene in front of Buckingham Palace in which she was riding a motorcycle. “We should have stopped you, Emma. It’s very dangerous,” joked Prince William according to the “People” magazine. “I know,” she replied. “I got away with it again. Unbelievable.”

The film will start in cinemas (where available) on May 27th, and one day later it will be shown on Disney + – initially only with VIP access, which is associated with additional costs (21.99 euros).
