Prince William and Duchess Kate are traveling for two days across the UK to thank helpers during the corona crisis ahead of the holidays.

Prince William (38) and Duchess Kate (37) will embark on a two-day train journey through the United Kingdom from Sunday (December 6th). The couple visits workers, school children and other people to thank them for their commitment in times of the Corona crisis. The couple announced this on their Instagram page.

For the first time the royal couple is traveling with the "Royal Train" through England, Scotland and Wales. It would like to meet with health and care workers, volunteers, teachers, students and young people and talk to them about their "experiences, sacrifices and inspiring achievements in this challenging year", according to the US magazine "People" a spokesman for Royals quoted.

The statement continues: "The Duke and Duchess look forward to shedding light on the great work that has been done across the country during this difficult year and to express their gratitude on behalf of the nation to all who do theirs Support local communities before the Christmas holidays. " The aim of the trip is to celebrate the local spirit of the people and show the effects of their generosity. In addition, the couple plan on their trip to highlight the work of the events industry, which has been particularly hard hit by the pandemic this year.

Along with the announcement of the two-day train journey, the couple published a self-painted picture by ten-year-old artist Joe Whale, who had recorded the upcoming trip in a doodle.
