Allegedly, William and Kate were planning to celebrate Christmas with the Middletons. Due to the new corona rules, this is no longer permitted.

This year Christmas is restricted for many families by Corona rules – this also applies to the royals. Due to the new security regulations in Great Britain, it could now even be that Prince William (38) and Duchess Kate (38) will spend the festival alone with their children for the first time.

At the beginning of December, Queen Elizabeth II (94) decided not to celebrate a big family festival at Sandringham in Norfolk this year. The Queen only spends the festival together with husband Prince Philip (99) at her castle in Windsor, the palace said. It was then speculated that Prince William and Duchess Kate could spend Christmas with Kate's parents, Carole, 65 and Michael Middleton, 71 in Berkshire. The couple had skipped the royal Christmas party in Sandringham twice in previous years to celebrate with Kate's family.

No guests allowed

However, due to the new regulations that the British Prime Minister Boris Johnson (56) just announced, this is no longer possible. Due to a more contagious coronavirus mutation discovered on the island, Johnson imposed a tough lockdown in the regions around London and south-east England. Households are only allowed to celebrate Christmas among themselves and not receive any guests.

Both Berkshire, the home of Duchess Kate's parents, and London, where sister Pippa Middleton (37) and her husband James Matthews (45) live, are in hard lockdown zones. Kate and William, who are currently said to be in their country estate, Anm Hall, in Norfolk, are not allowed to enter this zone and will therefore only celebrate the festival with their children Prince George (7), Princess Charlotte (5) and Prince Louis (2 ) spend.
