Prince William and Prince Harry: Would Princess Diana approve of this move?

The separation of William and Harry goes further than expected. The brothers even split the money from the Diana Memorial Fund among themselves.

Prince William (38) and Prince Harry (35) are pushing ahead with their plan to go completely separate careers. The separation of their working lives goes even further than previously thought. The royal brothers also share the funds of The Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Fund among their charities. The British "Sun" reports, citing appropriate documents. The way for this was already paved in December of last year.

The deal has been in place since December 2019

According to "The Sun", the Royal Foundation, which Harry and William founded together, took over the legal control of the "Diana Memorial Fund" in 2013. The foundation was founded after the death of her mother, Princess Diana (1961-1997). Although it no longer actively collects donations, it appears that it continues to receive occasional financial contributions. Most of this money has gone to charities that the brothers selected together.

The Royal Foundation was then operated jointly by the princes and their wives, Duchess Kate (38) and Duchess Meghan (38). But in summer 2019 it was announced that the "Fab Four", the former nickname of the royal quartet, separate their foundations. The Royal Foundation of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and the Sussex Royal Foundation were created. However, the latter no longer exists after Harry and Meghan's resignation from their royal duties.

According to The Sun, the Royal Foundation's annual report and financial statements for 2019 indicate that an agreement was signed on December 18, 2019 that the Royal Foundation would transfer half of the Diana Memorial Fund's proceeds to Sussex Royal will. After the Megxit at the end of March 2020, the money would now "be donated to another charity chosen by the Duke of Sussex."

The documents show that the "Diana Memorial Fund" received £ 21,346 in 2019, the equivalent of over € 23,500. Harry's share is said to have gone to the charity Sentebale, which takes care of the mental health and well-being of HIV-infected children and adolescents in Lesotho and Botswana.
