Prince William used an appointment in Newcastle to exchange ideas with citizens. He gave a health update on his wife.

Prince William, 41, visited a charity in Newcastle this Tuesday (April 30). “Free, life-saving treatment and support for men in crisis is what makes James’ Place so exceptional at its centers across the country,” it said in an Instagram post of the official “The Prince and Princess of Wales” account. “We are proud to open the new Newcastle site today, which has already helped more than 140 men since opening its doors in January.”

Prince William can be seen in photos talking to men at the facility. The 41-year-old also used his visit to the city in northeast England to chat with citizens on the street and take photos and shake hands with them. “May I ask you how your wife and children are doing?” a passerby asked Prince William to his wife, who is suffering from cancer, according to the Daily Mail. The royal replied: “Everyone is fine, thank you. Yes, we are fine.”

In a second Instagram post another appointment from Prince William was reported: “Towards a more sustainable future! The work of Earthshot finalist Low Carbon Materials is outstanding: creating low-carbon building material alternatives and other innovative new products that help reduce emissions within the construction industry to be drastically reduced.” The post shows William with the Low Carbon Materials team in Seaham near Durham.

William, the founder and president of the Earthshot Prize, opened up about the work the company has done since becoming a finalist in the 2022 environmental prize. The prince visited the company’s research and development laboratory wearing, among other things, gloves, safety glasses and a white lab coat. The pictures show him, among other things, happy and laughing as he interacts with the employees.

King Charles back in public

Prince William wasn’t the only member of the British royals who appeared publicly and in good spirits on Tuesday. King Charles III, 75, made his first official appearance since his cancer diagnosis. As he arrived at University College Hospital in London with wife Camilla, 76, he smiled at photographers and those waiting and waved to the crowd. After having to take a step back in recent months due to illness, he has now returned to his royal duties. Charles was named new patron of Cancer Research UK during his visit to the cancer center.
