With a previously unpublished father-son picture, King Charles III. congratulates his heir Prince William on his 41st birthday.
The British heir to the throne, Prince William, is celebrating his 41st birthday today (June 21). Congratulations already came from his father. King Charles III (74) published on the official Instagram page of the royal family a previously unreleased dad-son moment from the rehearsals of his coronation.
In a good mood at the coronation rehearsals
The sweet snap shows the two royals laughing as they rehearse a key moment of the coronation ceremony ahead of May 6. William helped his father put on the royal robes. Charles’ Instagram post read: “Happy Birthday to the Prince of Wales today!”
Photographer Chris Jackson also posted the same image on his Instagram account. He wrote: “Happy Birthday to the Prince of Wales! Lovely to capture this relaxing moment behind the scenes at the coronation rehearsals.”
Goose bumps moment at Westminster Abbey
Charles’ eldest son played a key role in the coronation. He caused a great emotional moment during the solemn ceremony in Westminster Abbey: after the king had been crowned, William promised him his loyalty and kissed his visibly touched father on the cheek.
