Queen Elizabeth’s jubilee culminated on Sunday evening with the big “Party at the Palace”. In addition to his father Prince Charles, Prince William also gave a moving speech in front of an audience of millions. Before that, however, a fan on stage made him giggle, as a video on the net shows.

It was not only a great moment for Queen Elizabeth, 96, when on Sunday evening, June 5, 2022, hundreds of thousands of people gathered in front of Buckingham Palace and in front of their home television to finally celebrate their 70th anniversary with the big party at the Palace to celebrate. Prince William, 39, also had a big moment and was supposed to give a celebratory speech. In a dark blue suit and initially with a serious expression, he entered the stage in front of the impressively illuminated palace. But just before he was about to start speaking, he was taken aback.

The reason: While he was still waiting for the cheers and applause of the crowd to calm down a little, a fan next to the stage began to sing: “We love you William, yes we do.” When other fans shouted “We love you” to him, even the heir to the throne threw royal etiquette overboard and couldn’t help but laugh.

Fortunately, the girlfriend of the singing lady was able to capture the sweet moment for eternity. She uploaded the video evidence with the words “My girlfriend made Prince William laugh” on the social media platform TikTok and, as expected, it went viral.

Prince William was able to recover after the small, sympathetic slip and began his speech with charm and wit as usual. “While nobody’s grandmother says thank you when you talk about her age, my own grandmother has been alive for almost a century now,” he joked, before turning to more serious tones and addressing the issue of the environment. “Now, in 2022 – when The Queen celebrates her platinum anniversary – the need to protect and rejuvenate our planet is more urgent than ever.”
