Since Princess Kate (42) made her cancer diagnosis public on March 22nd, the Prince and Princess of Wales’ official social media channels have been largely silent. Prince William’s wife (41) is currently undergoing treatment, and the couple’s three children are currently spending their school holidays at home. Of course, there isn’t much time left for social media. Now, for the first time, Prince William returned to Instagram and X with a personal message.

Prince William speaks out on social media

In an Instagram story and an X-Post The heir to the British throne commented on the resignation of English national soccer player Rachel Daly (32) on April 10th. “Thank you for so many unforgettable performances with the @lionesses,” wrote Prince William, sharing the footballer’s statement.

“Lots more goals for Villa now,” he added, signing “W” for William. The royal is an avowed fan of the English football club Aston Villa, for whom Daly has been playing since 2022 and has already scored 29 goals. William is also patron and president of the English football association, The Football Association, since 2006. As such, he has publicly shared his support for the England national team on many occasions.

When will Kate and William return to the public eye?

It is not known when Prince William will appear at an official appointment again for the first time. After Kate’s diagnosis, the heir to the throne initially canceled all appearances and royal duties. The three children’s school holidays last until the end of April, and the 41-year-old may then have more time for royal duties.

It is unclear when Princess Kate will return to the public eye. At the end of March, Kensington Palace said: “The Princess will return to her public duties as soon as she is cleared by her medical team. She is in good spirits and is focused on her full recovery.”
