Prince William
He surprises as a burger truck seller – for an important reason
Prince of Wales, heir to the throne, father of three and now… chef! Prince William surprises hungry citizens at a street food stand and provides them with burgers.
The visitors of a burger truck near London Bridge in the center of the metropolis probably did not expect this when they lined up hungry in the queue: none other than Prince William, 41, served them their food. However, the heir to the throne is not embarking on a new career path, his surprise visit is more about his commitment to our environment.

“Good morning everyone, nicely prepared, ready to take away,” said the 41-year-old in a good mood as he handed the finished burgers to the people waiting. They were amazed when they recognized King Charles’ 74-year-old son.
The lucky consumers were some of the 2.7 million subscribers to the popular Sorted Food YouTube channel, which regularly showcases eco-friendly food solutions and experiments with gadgets.
Prince William in action for our environment
The episode, released on Sunday, July 30, 2023, is part of the two-year collaboration between YouTube and the Earthshot Prize. The charity founded by William promotes innovative ideas to solve the world’s biggest environmental problems and make it more sustainable by 2030. In the new episode, the staff join the prince to present cheap and eco-friendly options and recipes, and focus on the work of three winners of this year’s Earthshot Prize, which culminated in the creation of the plant-based Earthshot burger.
Together with the team, he then brought the result to the customers. “Could we have four Earthshot burgers, please, Chef?” Sorted Food co-founder Jamie Spafford asked for another group of unsuspecting people, before William revealed himself. “Coming right away,” William replied, while the guests’ jaws dropped. “Yes, that’s Prince William,” joked Spafford.
“I was in shock – I was frozen,” admits one of the guests later. “Of all things I expected, it wasn’t that,” explained another delighted lady. In the end, not only the surprise visit from the Prince of Wales was well received, but also the plant-based burgers in environmentally friendly packaging.
