The opening of a sports center for his favorite club, Aston Villa, should have been a highlight in Prince William’s calendar.
Prince William (38) has opened a new training center for the English football club Aston Villa. At the Warwickshire center, he visited the Birmingham-based team as a guest of honor on Tuesday. He was beaming with the players and was informed about the regional involvement of the Premier League club during the pandemic.
William wore a burgundy sweater and a sky blue shirt – the club colors of Aston Villa. It was no coincidence: the president of the English football association FA has been a fan of the club since he was a child. He explained the reason for his following in an interview with the BBC in 2015: While his schoolmates would have been fans of Manchester United or Chelsea, he would have longed for a team “that is more in the middle of the table and more like a roller coaster ride of emotions for me can convey “.
