Prince William: That thought gives him sleepless nights

A subject that is very dear to Prince William's heart robs the British Royal of sleep night after night.

As a British royal, Prince William (38), who will sooner or later ascend the throne, was born with various duties and a certain influence. When it comes to the crucial things in life, William still feels a feeling of powerlessness that robs him of sleep at night, as he said in a conversation with a guest on the podcast "Outrage + Optimism".

Like his entire royal family, he himself has mainly representative duties. He is all the more annoyed by the inaction of many political leaders around the globe, who, in his eyes, are doing far too little against climate change. "I feel like I could do more if I had these skills. So I don't understand that those in charge of the reins don't feel that way too. That's what really upsets me and gives me sleepless nights, "said Prince William.

The Royal has been committed to protecting the environment for many years. It was only in October of this year that he launched the Earthshot Prize, which gives five winners each year around one million British pounds in funding who have come up with the best solutions to tackle the climate crisis. Over a period of ten years, 50 million British pounds are to be distributed, naturalist Sir David Attenborough (94) is part of the jury.
