Prince William: "The desire to help must be directed and channeled"

Prince William (37) addressed his compatriots with a haunting video message about the corona crisis. Via Instagram, he says: "Whenever and wherever the disaster strikes, people in the UK have the unique ability to pull together," the Royal said in the video. "The way local communities support those affected shows the best of our values and our human nature."

The British prince explained that the public's desire to help after the tragedy had to be managed and channeled in the best possible way, referring to a specially created "National Emergencies Trust" (NET). "When I launched it last year, I said I fear the day it will be needed. Unfortunately, with the outbreak of COVID-19, that day came faster than we ever hoped."

The NET has launched a call to raise funds to help local charities help those in need of the coronavirus outbreak.
