On his first visit to Wales as heir to the throne, William, the new Prince of Wales, revealed that he wants to learn the Welsh language.

Prince William (40) and Princess Kate (40) caused a stir during their visit to Wales. The Royals attended Tuesday for the first time since becoming Prince and Princess of Wales. One of the people who met the heir to the throne told People magazinethat William wanted to learn the Welsh language. He has also tried his hand at some Welsh expressions.

After the death of Queen Elizabeth II (1926-2022), William and Kate were married by King Charles III. (73) made Prince and Princess of Wales. As a newly married couple, they had been living there for some time. The last official appearance in Wales as Duke and Duchess of Cambridge was in Cardiff in June, where they attended rehearsals for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee with their children Prince George, 9, and Princess Charlotte, 7 . The couple are expected to visit the country frequently from now on due to their new titles.

No ceremony planned?

Unlike his father, however, William reportedly has no plans to hold an official investiture ceremony as Prince of Wales. This is reported by “Sky News”. Instead, the Prince and Princess of Wales want to focus on building trust among the people of Wales.

King Charles was Prince of Wales for around 64 years. His investiture took place on 1 July 1969 in a solemn, televised ceremony at Caernarfon Castle in Gwynedd. He studied Welsh at the University of Wales in Aberystwyth.
