Prince William: Will he get more support from Eugenie and Beatrice?

The second royal generation appeared united at Prince William’s garden party. In addition to the Prince of Wales himself, Princess Beatrice, Princess Eugenie and Zara Tindall were also beaming – despite the pouring rain. This appearance has given fans hope that the two princesses in particular will now be able to travel more often on behalf of the crown.

It was a royal appearance par excellence: On May 21, 2024, Prince William, 41, hosted the Sovereign’s Garden Party in front of Buckingham Palace. And while King Charles, 75, and Queen Camilla, 76, were not there, Princess Beatrice, 35, Princess Eugenie, 34, Mike, 45, and Zara Tindall, 43, did not miss the opportunity to show off their best side.

Charles actually had a different goal in streamlining the monarchy – due to his cancer diagnosis and that of Catherine, Princess of Wales, 42, the royal family seemed to be almost drastically understaffed for a few weeks and months. Since the beginning of the year, fans and experts have been wishing that Beatrice and Eugenie in particular would return to the service of the crown. But is that realistic?

Prince William: Eugenie and Beatrice could be important, especially in the summer

The journalist Emily Nash knows about the wishes that many have for the British crown. Nevertheless, she currently considers a return of the two York sisters to be unrealistic. “Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie and their cousins were at the garden party to support the Prince of Wales as the Princess continues her recovery, but they are not taking on any official duties,” Nash told Hello! Magazine.

Nevertheless, in her eyes it is not unlikely that Beatrice and Eugenie could appear at one or another royal event, especially in the coming months. “They have attended royal events in the past, sometimes in the presence of the late Queen,” Nash recalls and finds: “[Beatrice und Eugenie könnten] In Nash’s opinion, however, it is unlikely that the two women will leave their current jobs and careers behind and come back as senior royals at other events as members of the royal family.

Beatrice + Eugenie: Your last “Trooping the Color” appearance was years ago

The York Princesses appeared regularly at events surrounding Charles’ coronation in May 2023, the jubilee of Queen Elizabeth, †96, in June 2022 and of course also attended the funerals of the Queen and Prince Philip, †99 to say goodbye to them. The last “Trooping the Color” appearance of the two, for example, was a few years ago: in June 2019, Beatrice and Eugenie last waved down from the balcony of Buckingham Palace.

Emily Nash recalls that Princess Eugenie works as director of the Hauser & Wirth art gallery in London, while her sister works as vice president of strategic partnerships at the US tech company Afiniti. Between their professional obligations and family life, time could become too limited for both of them to attend additional appointments on behalf of the Crown. Nevertheless, fans can be sure: Eugenie and Beatrice will be there for William and the royal family when they are needed.
