Prince Harry will arrive for Prince Philip’s funeral. Royal experts hope that there will then be a reconciliation with Prince William.

The funeral service for Prince Philip, who died on April 9, will take place next Saturday at Windsor Castle. Buckingham Palace announced this. There should also be a nationwide minute of silence before the funeral service. It was also confirmed by the palace that Prince Harry (36) is arriving from his adopted Californian home for the funeral of his grandfather. His heavily pregnant wife, Duchess Meghan (39), had been advised against the trip by the doctors.

At the funeral, which only 30 guests are allowed to attend due to the corona restrictions, Harry will meet his brother Prince William (38) for the first time since the TV interview with Oprah Winfrey (67). According to British media reports, the two should walk next to each other behind the coffin of their grandfather at the funeral.

Will there be a reconciliation between William and Harry?

In the interview with Oprah Winfrey at the beginning of March, Harry and Meghan had, among other things, raised racism allegations against an unnamed member of the royal family. In addition, Harry explained that he only realized through Meghan that he had lived like a prisoner: “I was trapped by the system.” William and his father, Prince Charles (72), are still trapped there: “You cannot go.”

Harry’s presence at the funeral could, according to Royal experts, be a chance to repair the “deep damage” caused by the Oprah interview, reports “Mail on Sunday”. Whether the joint participation in the funeral service could make a difference remains to be seen, but some royal insiders hope that the brothers’ first meeting in more than a year could lead to a kind of reconciliation.
