The English heir to the throne, Prince William, and Denmark’s King Frederik X did not miss the European Championship match between Denmark and England.

In the evening, the preliminary round match between Denmark and England took place in the Frankfurt EM Arena. The British heir to the throne Prince William, 41, and the Danish King Frederik X, 56. Before kick-off, the husband of Princess Kate, 42, shared a picture on Instagram showing him with King Frederik and his daughter Princess Josephine, 13. William wrote diplomatically: “May the best team win.”

Prince William shows emotions at England draw

A thrilling match then unfolded in front of 47,000 spectators at the Deutsche Bank Park. Prince William was there, jumping up from his seat when Bayern star Harry Kane, 30, scored the opening goal for the Three Lions and raising his fist in celebration.

William, who celebrates his 42nd birthday tomorrow, June 21, is also president of the English Football Association (FA). He travelled to Frankfurt without his wife Princess Kate, who is continuing her cancer treatment, and their three children, who are at school.

After the game, King Frederik X shared a picture on the official Instagram channel of the Danish royal family. “Thank you for the exciting match. Well fought, Denmark,” says the post about a picture of the monarch with his daughter.
