Until Princess Alexia decides what she will do after graduating from college in Wales last year, she is enjoying her new freedoms – and celebrating life.
“A little work, a little travel”
The daughter of King Willem-Alexander, 57, and Queen Máxima, 53, confessed to the press on this year’s King’s Day that she had not yet made a decision. “I am very happy that I can travel a lot, get to know other cultures and do different things for a year. A little work, a little travel. In a sabbatical like this, every moment is special,” said Alexia when asked by the presenter about her current situation. However, the princess did not want to reveal which countries she had been to exactly and simply explained: “All the countries were equally beautiful. Above all, lots of sun. Great.” The princess did not reveal anything specific about her future plans either and answered soberly: “I’ll let you know when I know.”

That hasn’t happened yet. Princess Alexia would much rather continue to enjoy the sweet life and was allowed to accompany her parents to an extravagant birthday party in Mallorca last weekend, June 14 and 15, 2024. The daughter of the Spanish entrepreneur Alberto Cortina and his wife Elena Cué, who came of age in March 2024, celebrated her special day with a big party at the 20 million euro family finca in Moncaire on the edge of the Tramuntana mountain range, to which around 400 guests were invited, according to the Spanish portal “Vanitatis”.

During the celebration, there were supposedly horse riding demonstrations and flamenco performances, among other things, and a popular DJ also provided the atmosphere. And even Princess Alexia is said to have said a few kind words for birthday girl Alejandra in front of the entire birthday party – she and her royal parents have known the family for a long time and have been close friends for many years.
