Princess Anne celebrates her birthday. The Queen’s daughter turns 71. Her big brother, Prince Charles, gave special greetings.

Prince Charles (72) has sent loving birthday greetings to his younger sister Princess Anne, who will turn 71 on August 15th. A cute photo of the two was posted on the heir to the throne’s Instagram account. The photo was taken in 1951 and shows the young siblings in the pram in the garden of Clarence House. Charles leans over to his little sister and holds her hand. He wished Princess Anne “Happy Birthday” for the picture.


The Royal Collection Trust also sent congratulations to Princess Anne on social media – and showed on Twitter Another family picture of Anne crawling around in a meadow as a toddler. Also on the recording are Anne’s parents, Queen Elizabeth II (95) and Prince Philip (1921-2021), as well as Prince Charles. In an Instagram story The Royal Family account also wished Anne a happy birthday.

Charles and Anne are close

Charles and Anne are said to have been close from the start and were among themselves for many years. Charles was 11 years old before Prince Andrew, 61, and 15 when the Queen’s youngest child, Prince Edward, 57, was born. Princess Anne, on the other hand, is not even two years younger than the heir to the throne.

Anne has two children. She is the mother of show jumper Zara Tindall (40) and Peter Phillips (43), who runs a sports management company. In 1973 the daughter of Queen Mark Phillips (72) said yes, they separated in 1989 and divorced in 1992. Timothy Laurence, 66, a naval officer, married Anne in late 1992.
