Princess Beatrice: Her unusual wedding dress is on display

Princess Beatrice married in a wedding dress steeped in history. Those interested will soon be able to see the dress up close.

Princess Beatrice (32) said yes to Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi (36) on July 17th in a vintage wedding dress steeped in history. The lavishly embroidered bodice dress she wore at the small ceremony at All Saints Chapel in Windsor Castle Park will be on display in an exhibition in Windsor, Berkshire, from September 24th to November 22nd, 2020.

The ivory-colored satin dress was originally made by the London designer Sir Norman Hartnell (1901-1979) in the 1960s for the bride's grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II (94). The Queen wore it to the world premiere of the movie "Lawrence of Arabia" in Odeon Leicester Square in December 1962 and to the opening of Parliament in 1966. For Beatrice's big day, it had been redesigned according to her wishes.

Shoes, bridal bouquet and tiara?

At the exhibition in Windsor Castle, Beatrice's wedding shoes by Valentino will also be on display, which she wore on other occasions, including the wedding of Prince William (38) and Kate Middleton (38) in 2011. Princess Beatrice's bridal bouquet is also exhibited, albeit only as a replica with artificial flowers.

The princess also wore a tiara at her wedding, which the Queen lent her – she herself had worn it as Princess Elizabeth on her own wedding day in 1947. However, the diadem will not be part of the exhibition. A spokeswoman for the Royal Collection Trust confirmed the "Daily Mail".
